Wim Bobelijn

Lead Vocal and Sax in this project.

Like a fish in the water on the stage, he loves to entertain the audience. Wim's first contact with music was rather based upon classical music edication on piano around his 10th year.

Wim loves instruments and soon he discovered the guitars and the harmonica and later the sax.

In other projects Wim plays the bass guitar, but discovered that its voice was not only useable in the blues but also, it sounds a lot like Mark Knopfler.

The 80ties were his teenage youth years, the same period of the Dire Straits top years. Since then , their music stayed on the preference list of Wim. This is the reason of starting this Dire Straits tribute band one year ago.

Geert Demets

Solo Guitar

Lots and lots of music miles makes Geert the experienced guitarist we need in this band.

He strives on understanding Mark Knopfler's unique playing style down to the smallest detail.  With a strong focus on the signature fingerpicking technique and emotional depth of Knopfler's music, he aims to perfect his skills and bring the essence of Dire Straits' frontman's signature guitar sound.

WIM DE POURCQ

Backing Vocal

The musical journey of Wim starts at his 5th anyversary , receiving a small organ and using it for playing his first ( church)songs and discovering the magic of playing music. The switch to guitar came a 10 years later, being teenager was jamming with friends until the early hours a revelation.

Since then, Wim evolved by playing accoustic guitar in many occasional bands. From one came another and started also playing the electric guitar(s) in several bands.

Triggered by the special sound of the rhythm guitar in the Dire Straits songs, he joined our tribute band, which is a gift for all of us.

DAVY DE SMET

Drums and specials

It is in Assenede, a small village and by coincidence our rehearsal place ,where his first musical steps on very young age were taken in a windband. Music became a big part of his life, so later on he graduated from the art education school with first prize for Percussion.  In that time he was  already member of various (cover)bands and orchestras. After his education he mainly started playing in musicals and  remained active within the orchestras.

Looking for his roots in Assenede again, he encountered  one of our members asking him to join the band knowing his top skills as  musician. After introducing the songs to him, it didn't took long before Davy also got fascinated by the  sound of the Dire Straits and started to finetune in detail the percussion and special effects.

PAT SEYNAeVE

Bass Guitar & Backings

Experienced the eighties in his twenties, Pat knows, as a seasoned musician, skilled in many different styles, like no other how to play the deep bass lines with the same energy as when groups like Dire Straits caused a new musical wave in the eighties.

He was always active in bands who compose their own songs. Exceptionally he has joined one of the best tribute bands of the Dire Straits.

ADELINE SOLèy

Backing Vocal

joined the Dire Straights at the end of 2024. Her effervescent character and singing skills have quickly become indispensable in our group. Her angelic voice is as beautiful as her looks. As the youngest band member, she not only brings a breath of fresh air with her, but also a younger target audience. Her charms will undoubtedly also come in handy on stage.

TOM VANANTWERPEN

Keyboardist

From the cradle, Tom found peace in music whenever his dad would put on vinyl to soothe him. Later, at a younger age, he started at the music school and found his passion with his first instrument: the trumpet. He began to stand out in tournaments and was soon in demand with orchestras.

At 16, Tom discovered his second and eternal love: the piano. His talent for this, too, quickly became apparent, and he was asked to join various bands and accompany singers, becoming a recurring theme in his life.

That is, until 2025, when he discovered the Woodland Dire Straits. It proved to be an ideal combination, as the Dire Straits had been Tom's favorites since he was 10. This, combined with the fact that the musicians play with heart and soul, and that "good" isn't simply good enough, provided the perfect opportunity to further develop his passion.
